Liturgical Ministers

Lectors

Lectors participate in the Liturgy of the Word by proclaiming the Word of God at Mass in a reverent manner. Lectors prayerfully review the readings prior to the Saturday/Sunday/ Holy Day Liturgy.

Two Lectors are scheduled for each Mass and their responsibilities include:

-carrying the Lectionary in the entrance procession

-proclaiming the first and second readings during the Liturgy of the Word, and reading the petitions

Volunteer Opportunities: Any Catholic who has been confirmed may be commissioned to be a Lector at the Sunday Masses. High School Students are encouraged to participate. A training session is required and can be scheduled by calling the parish office 937-433-1188

Extraordinary Ministers of the Eucharist

Responsibilities of the Extraordinary Ministers of the Eucharist include:

-assist in distributing the Body and Blood of Our Lord Jesus Christ in the Sacrament of the Eucharist at Mass.

-take communion to the sick, homebound and those in nursing facilities.

Volunteer Opportunities: Any catholic who is confirmed may be commissioned to be an Extraordinary Minister of Holy Communion. High School Students are encouraged to participate. A training session is required and can be scheduled by calling the parish office 937-433-1188

Homebound ministry provides communion and in person visits to parishioners in their homes as well as to residents in nursing homes and rehabilitation centers. Volunteers are trained for this ministry for temporary and long term assignments. Contact the office at 937-433-1188 to find out more from Deacon Roger Duffy.

Mass Coordinators

A Mass Coordinator is the check- in person for each Mass, assuring that Eucharistic Ministers, Ushers, Lectors and Altar Servers are present and giving any special instructions for the Mass.  Mass Coordinators also assist in the set up and clean up of Mass.
